Gift Shop
The Tryon Arts and Crafts gift shop features work of artisans from the Appalachian region in a number of media, including stained and fused glass, basketry, weaving, metalsmithing, silvermithing, jewelry, wood gourds, knives, botanicals, pottery, photography and fiber art. All items are juried and handcrafted. A short biography of the artist is available with each purchase. You are sure to find something for everyone on your gift list and to fit any budget.
The shop has a special area devoted to the "medium of the month", where we feature and celebrate our artisans and their work in that media. Watch the paper for an announcement of who and what will be featured. Come and enjoy a different art or craft each month.
Collectors and shoppers are frequently surprised at all they find in our gift shop.

Artisan Consignment
Tryon Arts and Crafts, Inc. is proud of the new gift shop which is four times larger than our previous retail outlet. We are now able to offer work by regional artisans as well as selected work produced by our instructors and students. All items in our gifts shop are juried and handcrafted.
All featured artisans are members. (Membership is $35.00) Consignment fee is 30% for members, 25% for compensated instructors and 20% for instructors who teach without compensation. Instructors must be teaching currently or have taught within the last year to qualify.
We celebrate our artists. Business cards, a small photo of the artist and a biography are suggested. An artisan binder, displayed at the entrance to the gift shop, offers background information on each artist. Each month we select an arts media and we feature and publicize our artisans and their work in that media.
If you wish to consign handcrafted items to our gift shop, please send photos of your work together with written descriptions and selling prices to our jury at TACjury@tryonartsandcrafts.org. The jury will evaluate items at least quarterly.
If you would like more information about our consignment program, go to our Contact Us page and check the "Artisan Consignment" option. Feel free to use the comment box for any specific questions that you may have.
