  • be secured with ties or ear loops
  • include multiple layers of fabric
  • allow for breathing without restriction
  • be able to be laundered and machine dried without damage or change to shape

PACKAGING & DELIVERY

Your masks will be sanitized and repackaged by TACS, so you do not need to wrap them individually. Along with your mask package, include a label that includes your name, email address, phone number, and the phrase “MASKS 4 MASSES“. If you have a business you wish to specify as the recipient of your masks, please do so. If you do not specify the recipient, Tryon Arts & Crafts School will gladly find good homes for your masks.

You have two delivery options for your masks:

  1. WEEKDAY DROP-OFF at Tryon Arts & Crafts School: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Drop off your masks at the school’s main entrance. The school is closed to the general public, but staff works regular hours. We request that you contact us to let us know when you are coming: administrator@tryonartsandcrafts.org or 828-859-8323.
  2. WEEKDAY DROP-OFF at St. Luke’s Hospital: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Drop off your masks at the hospital’s safe-zone, which is the main entrance front lobby at the front desk.

After documenting your donations, TACS will arrange for your masks to get to local businesses and individuals in need.

MASKS 4 MASSES END DATE

The competition will conclude after regional businesses are back to full operation. The more masks donated, the sooner we all get back to business!

WHY MASKS? FEDERAL GOVERNMENT & CDC INFO >>

The federal government, advised by the Center for Disease Control (CDC), recently recommended that people wear cloth face coverings in public settings, such as grocery stores or pharmacies. CDC advises “the use of simple cloth face coverings to slow the spread of the virus and help people who may have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others.”

We here at TACS got to thinking that if all of the grocers, pharmacists, and other asymptomatic essential workers were to take this extra precaution, we would need a lot of cloth face coverings. This struck us as a great opportunity for our creative community to put our skills to use.

So, let’s take this opportunity to get creative for a good cause!
