Mobile Wind Sculpture
Experiment with the laws of physics—levers, mass, and fulcrum. Learn to work and join metals together. Students will use pliers to bend wire, creating a drawing-like line in space. Students will use tin snips to cut metal sheet to make shapes that catch the wind, creating movement in a kinetic mobile or wind vane. Materials needed: pliers, pop rivets, gloves (optional).
Students need to wear safety glasses and cotton clothes. No open toed shoes. Gloves optional.
