Kids Summer Art Program

SUMMER SIZZLER 2010

Four weeks of summer fun!

July 12-16, July 19-23, August 2-6 and August 9-13

Ages 10 and up

Hours: 8:30 – 5:30pm Monday through Friday

This summer Tryon Arts and Crafts has expanded its Summer Sizzler program. It will be held for 4 weeks. The hours will be 8:30am to 5:30pm to accommodate working parents. This expanded schedule will allow the students to experience a more varied, multi-media program. Each week will include pottery, woodworking, lapidary, precious metal clay, and music. In addition, each week will include some of the following: stained glass, glass mosaic, metalsmithing, or tie dye. Afternoons will be filled with music and movement. We have received a grant from the Polk County Community Foundation to hire two student interns to assist the instructors and monitor the lunch hour. It promises to be a fun-filled summer. If you have children or grandchildren who you think would enjoy Summer Sizzler, please call and reserve your spaces(s).

Students need to bring a lunch and a snack and will want to wear suitable clothing.

Tryon Arts & Crafts is a partner in the Polk County Public Schools Builders Club program, offering arts enrichment for children. TAC has provided a week of arts and crafts projects including stained glass and painted floor cloths with elementary students at Polk Middle School..
