In the jewelry world the term cold connections usually describes joining techniques that are used to fasten together parts that either cannot be soldered or soldering is not preferred. Leading the pack are probably rivets. Come spend the whole weekend learning about cold connections. Students will start with the basics and work up! The instructor will furnish all tools and materials. Warning!! This workshop has a contagious effect on students and with Kim’s bubbly personality, you are sure to have a great time. All you have to do is reserve your spot. This workshop is open to beginners and all levels of experience and teenagers are welcome! This could be a fun week-end for parent and teen.
The instructor, Kim St. Jean, graduated from USC –Aiken with a degree in education and a minor in art. After teaching for a while, she decided to explore jewelry making and it was not long after that she combined her creativity with her love of teaching. Kim teaches for Swarovski in Tucson at their “Create Your Style” seminars. Kim co-owns Expressive Impressions, Inc. in Charlotte, NC, a full service bead store offering many disciplines of jewelry making classes along with tools, findings and beads.
Advance registration is required. To register please call Tryon Arts & Crafts at (828) 859-8323. Workshop fee is $120.00 for members ($130.00 for non-members) and is due at the time of registration. Spaces will not be held without advance payment. Payments can be made at or mailed to Tryon Arts & Crafts, 373 Harmon Field Road, Tryon, NC, 28782. Credit card payments either in person or over the phone.
The cost of supplies/materials for each student (approximately $35 +) will be paid to the instructor at the workshop. Students are asked to bring a bag lunch.
