WIRE-WRAP ART JEWELRY
August 23 – 24, 2008
Saturday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
Sunday 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Back by popular demand; join us for another session of wire wrap jewelry making. Students will have the opportunity to build on their skills with more complex designs. If you missed the first class, don’t fret, the instructor will include level 1 projects. Some wire experience is helpful and beginners must be familiar with basic tools used. Projects include earrings, pendant, bracelet and rings as time permits. For students from the first class, projects include an asymmetrical pendant, bracelet with a bead, and more.
The instructor, Sonia Arnold, a native of Virginia, attended East Tennessee State University with a BA in English and a minor in speech & drama. She later studied art at UNC-Asheville and holds the honor of being the first student to receive a BFA at this site. Sonia’s work with jewelry is extensive and involves silver/gold smithing as well as wire. Her work is found in Brevard at Number 7 Arts Co-operative and at the Mineral Museum. She and her family reside in Brevard, NC.
