Description
This workshop is for beginners or intermediate students who have good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Students will cover basic torchwork techniques and safety in the Welding Studio. Joe will instruct students on the practice of “bas relief,” a technique used to create dimension in sculptures. Each student will create a leaf-shaped wall panel.
Students should bring safety glasses, leather utility gloves, and hearing protection (if desired). TACS can provide glasses and gloves, if needed.
To qualify for the lottery drawing, you must:
- Be a resident of Polk County, NC, or Landrum, SC
- Be new to TACS’ Welding program
- Commit to both days– Because each session builds directly on the prior day, there is no opportunity for make-up sessions.
- Class slots are awarded through a lottery drawing
