Description

Beginner

Students will spend 4 hours learning the basics of spoon carving knife work.  They will start with roughed out spoon blanks and use the knife grips and techniques they learn to make a functional spoon.  You will learn how to safely use a sloyd knife and hook knife to carve a spoon to completion.  This class is geared toward beginners who are very new to spoon carving or have never carved before.  Students will leave with a finished spoon and I will have more blanks available at the end of class.

Students should wear long pants and closed-toed shoes.  They may bring their own sloyd knives if they own them.

Materials fee: $10 payable to the instructor at the time of the workshop.
