Lauren Escobedo brings a diverse background in fine arts and digital media to TACS. At Winthrop University, she studied Painting and Art Conservation while actively participating in museum and gallery practices and the university’s printmaking group. Her passion for creativity led her to New York City, where she worked as a Scenic Painter before advancing to Art Director for various feature films, bringing stories to life through visual storytelling.
Her dedication to education and the arts continued through teaching Photo & Video Storytelling and Visual Foundations classes at New York University’s Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute. Currently, Lauren applies her creative vision to business development in the video game industry, where she curates lists of games with high potential and leads strategy and investment for games seeking development budgets.
A North Carolina native, she returned to her roots in 2020, settling in Tryon when the pandemic provided an opportunity to work remotely and move closer to family. Throughout her varied career, she has maintained a strong connection to traditional artistic practices through her personal painting and printmaking work. Lauren is energized by TACS’s mission of providing arts education to our community and looks forward to drawing from her experience in traditional fine arts, education, and digital media.
