Description

All skill levels welcome

 

Participants will design and construct a framed piece of landscape art made entirely of dyed wood.  This session will tackle two elements.  While creating the landscape art piece, students will learn design and layout methods, and work with several shop tools, including bandsaw, table saw, spindle sander, and router table.  Students will also learn how to build a solid wood picture frame to make their finished artwork look complete.

 

Students must be able to stand for periods up to 2 hours long and be able to lift materials up to 20 pounds.

 

Students Should Bring: ear plugs, safety glasses, and dust mask/respirator

 

Instructor Provides: Prepared wood for landscape art and frames, backer boards, framing supplies, dye, shellac.
