Description
This workshop is geared toward beginners who are very new to spoon carving or have never carved before. Students will spend 4 hours learning the basics of spoon carving knife work. They will start with roughed out spoon blanks and use the knife grips and techniques they learn to make a functional spoon. They will learn how to safely use a sloyd knife and hook knife to carve a spoon to completion. Blanks will be provided by the instructor and all other materials and tools will be provided.
Each student will leave with a finished spoon, as well as a blank to take home with them.
To qualify for the lottery drawing, you must:
- Be a resident of Polk County, NC, or Landrum, SC
- Be new to TACS’ wood carving program
