Description

Beginner and intermediate levels.  Process oriented workshop.

Parent-guardians may register with their kids to share in this fun workshop in spinning yarn.  Tuition covers 2 people,  For some projects, the guardian and child will share equipment and work together.  Minimum child age: 5 years old.

 

Learn to spin yarn from raw wool.  We will use drop spindles to learn the hand skill of drafting and spinning yarn and there will be spinning wheels to try out and learn also.  Humans have been making yarn on sticks for thousands of years.  This is one of the oldest fiber arts on earth.  It is fun and easy to learn.  Then you can make yarn for your weaving, knitting or spinning projects.

 

The instructor will provide roving and drop spindles.
